Hi i am the webmaster for the site (www.funspot.com). We are ranking in top 5 results on most of trampoline industry related Keywords but there is a one keyword for which i am trying very hard but still not ranking i.e "trampoline" itself. You can check trampoline pads, beds, springs, mats, exercises, enclosure parts etc. we are at top for all of them accept the one key word. Can Anyone through some light on this.
As you can see "Trampoline" is more competitive keyword than others, so you have to work more for this. Go for off page optimization like: Article submissions Link Exchange Blogging Directory Submissions etc. etc. etc. Always link your website with the keyword "Trampoline".... N wait for the results ..
^^agree with that.. work more on that one... you have like 7,000,000 other site using that kws.. not to mention those who target and compete that kw...
Don't feel bad, it took me almost a year to get #2 for funny pictures and it has a lot more competition then yours, in time you will reach your goals. Build quality one-way backlinks to your site, use the anchor text trampoline.
get creative and build quality backlinks. like ssandecki suggests, use trampoline as your anchor text and ok to use some variations there of. stay away from directory submissions as much as possible. the lower the number of outbound links the site has that you're getting a link from, the better. i hardly consider directories "quality" backlinks.
Trampoline is a highly competitive keyword. So you need to work on it more. Try t do some blog submission, article submission, link campaigning for this key phrase. And if you can get some .EDU or .GOV links for this purpose then it will be great...
The advice here is all good but remember to add some variation to anchor text or you will trigger an over optimization penalty. Do KW research and find a few good traffic second tier keywords to pop in the anchor text every now and again
For a phrase like that one, quality links are needed, I currently work on sites that are #1 in very competative fields for two word key phrases, but Im also trying to get ranked for the singular word. Articles appear to be having impact - You need to submit to around 50 to 100 sites at a time though, which is time consuming
It would be nice to know how long you've been promoting the site already and through what means. Because in many cases, it is just a matter of time and quality backlinks once you rise a few ranks up the SE results.
