People lost their accounts for a lot less. Don't do anything to falsely inflate your traffic for your sites with Adsense on it.

    Can someone clarify?

I was under the impression (forgive the pun) that impressions were just page visits that didn't generate any revenue. If that is indeed the case, then why would page visits be a problem?

mmmm yes (forgive me for being such a newbie) but I thought that CPM was just a reporting feature. Obviously I have a lot to learn...:)

The reason I asked is because, when building a page I might return to it often to test. Obviously I'm careful not to click, but can just viewing the page cause problems?

No problem just to view your website. But don't reload it too damn often.

Thanks for that. I still don't understand 'why', but as I said, I have a lot to learn.

    Wonderful things these forums....

you can remove GA ads before add your site to autosurf program, after you have more traffic, remove site from autosurf program and place GA ads again.

I've read and I now understand 'why'. I never realised that advertisers were charged just for the ads appearing. I previously thought they were only charged for clicks.

    You live and learn.

Yeah, autosurf programs are a no go for websites with Adsense. I used one for awhile to get traffic to my own website, and in a few days I got an email from Google saying that I was getting invalid clicks or impressions. Plus, these auto-surf programs don't necessarily provide the kind of traffic that you want to your site. The people that use them usually don't even pay attention to the sites that they are autosurfing.

I would advise everyone to watch their adsense sites' stat closely.

Your competitors might just put your site on multiple autosurf sites to shut your adsense account down.

Ban all autosurf sites/ip address from accessing your site.
