traffic up, clicks down...

    so before i was bitching that my traffic was down, well now its going way up and my clicks are dowwwwwwwn. Anybody else experience this?

    It happens from time to time.
    Google can only pay you what they themselves are been paid.

    If advertisers are not bidding as much anymore then I guess that explains why you are getting less.

    But you say that your actual clicks are down, this could be because the wrong ads are been delivered, the ones that will not interest your users.
    Do the ads look the same as b4?

    It seems when I get less traffic I'm paid more per click....oddly enough so it all seems to wash out.

    Any chance the traffic spike was due to SE Bots visiting and crawling your site? Might explain higher traffic = less clicks behaviour...

    Yeah and some traffic track software ( Like Webalizer ) is a bit misleading.
    A while ago it showed that I had an enormous traffic increase, but then I checked Awstats ( that checks UNIQUE visitors ) and that gave a better view of the amount of traffic.
    The thing was that many visitors that have been on my site before, don't click the ads anymore, because they already know where they are.
    They develop ad blindness.
    You will only get much clicks from people that are new to your site.

    A solution to this problem would be to randomize the places of where the ads are shown throughout the website.
