Okay let say you build a new page and optimize for a competitive word like sex. You will suddenly get traffic for one or two days and then you will never get traffic at all for that keyword again. What is the reason behind this? If the keyword is so competitive and you are thrown into position 10000000000000 how can you get from there into the top 10? Thanks
You need to get some web traffic monitoring software, I would suggest using Google Analytics; it's free and the most powerful analytics software around. All you do is add tracking code to each web page. You'll be able to track visitors, who goes to what web page, where them come from, keywords from search engines, etc. www.google.com/analytics
This is done to ascertain whether a site is truly great and google want to make sure that people see great new stuff. They use a lot of google toolbar data to monitor this as well as linking patterns, social media, news, etc.. The only way to get back up there is hard work and patience.
