I was wondering if anyone is seeing this. Just yesterday, one of websites, got more than 800 unique visitors from live.com from a one long keyword phrase. the site has been there in live.com for months now, but never got any traffic except for a couple of visitors here and there. Is it possible that someone used an automated script ? just confused
did you look at the actual logs? I have been seeing referrals from live.com using MS address space that is clearly a bot, but not labeled as a bot in the logs.
I have top rankings there still I don't see any traffic from Live... Hopefully Microsoft will start promoting their search engine someday
I don't think this is possible, even on Google, you must rank for a very good keyword with no competition to get so many traffic in such a short time. I would say that it might be a spam or something. Mind to share the keyword?
I like live traffic more than Google traffic since it actually converts far better. I'd suppose it's used by non savvy soccer moms who find it exciting to buy something from the internets.
I wasted more money on MSN PPC for so many programs it is not funny. Also organically I have 200+ top rankings driving very very low traffic. They must have nothing but corpses for people....
Check out the logs and see if they are all from the same IP address, with so many searches for one long phrase, its probably one person.
My site actually does get a trickle of visitors from Live with some regularity. Google ends up sending tons of image searches, but Live consistently sends in searchers for relevant results (ie, I actually have articles on what they're looking for).. same with Yahoo. I just started up with the AdCenter stuff so.. here's hoping it works!
I have been noticing a lot of my traffic is originating from www.live.com also. My website is http://nortonrelease.com.
MSN/Live delivers low traffic to most of our websites where directories are concerned. However, for our travel sites in the UK it seems to be doing just fine. I reckon it all really depends on what type of website you have and what the people really use MSN/Live for!
