Hey, I my site has been up for about half a month now and the traffic is honestly slowing down a lot already. I haven't REALLY advertised much, simply because I have no clue where to advertise. My site is myroommatesucks.org and to me it is a niche that isn't going to do well with a lot of SEO work or even most advertising either since it has a pre-designated group of people it is direct towards. Any ideas on where/what to advertise with to see the best results and highest traffic?
I think that the target should be everything related to college. Lots of students live with a roommate.
Yes, I understand that. However I am wondering where exactly I should be trying to advertise. I don't want to spam much really on forums and stuff, however I still have no idea where to advertise besides handing out fliers at local campuses.
I think you're on to something. A few months ago I read a case study about offline marketing and posting flyers at grocery stores, student unions, etc ... was one of the methods used. Betcha there are some Fiver folks that would post flyers at universities all around the country for ya. For online, what about gaming websites?
update your site to site from my signature every day, with domain title (yoursitename.com), it will auto tweets to our twitter account where we have more then 4000 followers and each time you gonna hits 50 to 100 visitor to your site, its depend on, same time if other people also updating their site you may have less visit. But its free and you can only able to update once a day, good luck.
First of all you could use: A PPC program like Adwords, if you don't know how to do seo. Second: You could learn how to do seo, it is not that heard. SEO = search engine optimization. Brief: What SEO means? Article Writing (ezinearticles.com, articlebase.com), Forum posting (digitalpoint, sitepoint, warriorforum), Submiting your website in as many directories as you can. Try to get approved in DMOz, as a suggestion.
You don't seriously expect to get traffic after one months only. Build your site and backlinks and come back after one year.

I would start thinking about building back links with some unique article content. I would also think about advertising in some of the online college newspapers; simply do a Google search and see what you come up with…
