Experts please advise me, I would like to know whether the technical
articles/blogs related to vb.net/asp.net can get some decent amount of
    traffic.

I am trying for past few months. But I am getting only around 5000
    visits per month.

Please advise me, will this niche good for adsense?

Thank you very much in advance

Any blog related to any theme can be successful if you have passion about that topic. You need some good promotion of your blog and soon you can increase your traffic. You can take help of some nice resources and learn basics of Blog Marketing. Some of the sites that may help you are problogger.net, shoemoney.com, copyblogger.com etc.

    Hi stephen
thanks for your advice. I understand that i need to market/spread links about my articles. I am currently doing in few forums. But i dont know exactly which method will bring me more traffic and good search engine rankings.
i am currently doing the following
    1) written some articles on ezine article repository.(very few visitors everyday)

    2) answering technical doubts/questions in some forums, few of them are nofollow but i am getting some traffic(very few visitors everyday)

    3) today after looking at this forum, i came to know that i can link mysite to blogs using comments as well. since i am new at this i am learning how to identify the correct blog to add some valid comments that will be useful to the author and the visitors as well.

    4) i have submitted to some directories,(almost no use at all)
After done all i am getting around 150 -200 visits daily for 100 + pages.

am doing OK or anymore i can do to improve my website?

A nice point, but my question is more onwards traffic rather than the competitors. As i am doing quite ok on the keywords i have selected and written about

note:even i am not in the first result but with in first page for most of the keywords i am targetting.

It's hard to make a good guess as to how much traffic you will get. Traffic is going to depend on your site visibility. Are you near the top of the search results, or are you a relative unknown? As it's been stated above, you have a fairly competitive niche, so if you're just starting out your traffic flow might be pretty low. Just work on marketing your site to the best of your ability, and the traffic will come in time.

A competitive niche means hard work, but the payoff potential is worth it in the end.

You say you are not having much trouble getting to the first page with most keywords, yet you still want more traffic. I also ran into this issue just recently with a site of mine. Got ranked 6th on google, 8th on yahoo and 7th on bing and was not bringing the traffic i was hoping for.

Basically If you want more traffic, it sounds like you might need to change up the keywords your aiming for...

You can check your targeted keyword search volume at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Then, install google.com/webmaster and monitor your position in famous keywords.

Install, google.com/analytics and study where is your traffic coming from and bounce rate. Improve your bounce rate by providing more related contents on your side bar or footer and engage more on high referring traffic site.

Next, is increase your SERP ranking in google for your targeted keyword. It is good if you can reach first page. Try to get top 3 spots for those keywords.

And, try to concentrate on one or two high volume keywords and get some achored keyword backlinks from high pr dofollow blog pages using commenting. I'm sure your rank will boost and your traffic will improve. I have been doing this for a year+ now.

DigitalPoint also has an awesome keyword tool if you have a google SOAP API. It's what actually brought me here.
