The website that I own is ran by Godaddy. I get the majority of my traffic from twitter followers. The site is a Nigerian news site, and 90% of my followers on twitter are from Nigeria. Why is it that when I look at my google analytics page I will have 4,000 unique visitors from the UK --- 2,000 unique visitors from Nigeria, and about 10,000 unique visitors that are (not set)...For a while I just ignored this, because it didn't matter. I was making money off of adsense. But now I want to sell ad space to advertisers, and it's quite hard for me to do that because in Alexa it's showing that only 8% of my visitors are coming from Nigeria, that 58% are coming from the UK, and that the rest is basically undefined. What's going on? Can anyone help me out? I'm at a loss here.
It sounds like maybe your website is ranking for keywords in the UK? Have you checked on your Analytics to see what organic traffic you are getting, and then, what words people are typing to find it? Also, go to google webmaster tools and specify what country your website serves. This may help.
The majority of my organic traffic falls under the (not set) category. Is it normal for me to have so many visitors under (not set)? Keywords don't really matter much for me. Majority of my traffic comes through twitter.
