    Hi

I've heard conflicting estimates of the amount of traffic you get for being at Google number #1,#2,#3 etc.

I think Aaron Wall said it was something like 50%,20%,10%,and so on.

    What is your experience?

ive seen various different results across my sites, its impossible to give a number on the different % between these positions though. There are many factors

    how appealing your title
    how appealing your desc is
    the users feelings etc....

ive seen some websites get more traffic from 2nd position, than number 1 etc... there are certain phrases ive dominated the top 3 and seen varying amounts between them

well i read it somewhere that ranking 1 in comparison to 2 gets you around 300% more traffic and in comparison to rank 10 gets you around 1000%.....i m not sure about the exact figures though which i think would be hard to calculate....

it all depends on the description

bad description = no one is going to take a look at it.

all you can do it bring it to their eyes, but you can't make them click.

All things being equal this would be my eduated guess: 60%, 25%, 15%

But I do agree that a good description can skew those numbers.

From my experience, i would say #2 website attracts more traffic than #1 or others.

always go for the indented listings, they double your hits as compared to a single listing in the same position, and position isn't so important then
