Hello folks I want to run a blog and i have chosen my niche. But one thing i want that i want to have traffic to my blog mostly from USA. What should i do for getting 80-90% USA traffic ?? Will it be good if i Register my domain and hosting in USA please help me in driving more traffic from particular country.
I don’t think you can control who looks at your site other than having an appealing site. I get allot of traffic from India and the UK and I’m in the US.
Get a hosting based in USA. Get a site with appropriate extension. Use Google Webmaster tools to target the specific country. Get quality backlinks from USA based websites. This will help to increase traffic from USA.
Your best bet is to get back links from US websites. I don't think you can really control what demographic visits your site. Just be happy to get visitors in general!
Yes,I agree you can't control with ease.Though you can try advertising in US based sites.I get most of my traffic from US,india,Poland.
I suggest you do lots more social bookmarking, for example I have had my blog up for 1 month now and over 50% of visits come from the US and around 20% comes from Canada. I hardly do much backlinking ( which I really should do...) Well back on the topic, yes try social bookmarking and every time you post, in order to maximze the amount of traffic you recieve, submit your article to LOTS of social media sites! Hope this helps!
Get a niche which can get targeted USA traffic, this is the best way to get US Traffic. If you have a Asia targeted traffic, it's hard to get much from US.
i would say try using the demographic setting in google webmaster tools. Set it to a region specific one. You can use ppc marketing and target us customers with geo targetting. that ensures only us customers sees your ads and they will come to your site. They can become your loyal readers. You can also use chitika ads which displays ads only to us visitors.
i am agree with building backlinks from US based website. Your blog's visibility probably better for US visitors. But no one can guarantee the result.
There are a variety of techniques to use to unsure that google knows your site is intended for the US market. If you follow these then you should rank best in that territory. Host your site in the US Do not buy a regional domain name Include your location details somewhere on your website Exchcange links / promote your site primarily with other US sites Specify a region in the google webmaster tools area There are a few other tips, likely listed above, but those are the main ones. This issue is usually more of a problem for non US sites really, so I wouldn't worry.
Thanks for the reply like to tell that i am starting a blog and not easy to get quality backlinks form usa based website so besides of doing link building initially what other things can fetch good US traffic ?? I believe in quality traffic not in quantity traffic.
It all depends on your content. If your content appeals mostly to a US audience, you'll get US traffic. Otherwise, you'll get traffic from whomever is most interested or searches for that topic. For example, if your blog is about bollywood, expect most of your traffic to come from the indian subcontinent.
Based on my experience, the main thing is to make sure that your content is in the English language, specifically American English as opposed to the British or Australian varieties. I've been able to draw about 75-80% USA traffic just by doing this (and I never really set out to target USA traffic specifically -- Karlonia welcomes visitors from any country!). As some of the other posters have suggested, you will probably want to avoid topics that have a specific focus outside of the USA (for instance, posting about the parliamentary elections in Britain will draw mostly UK traffic, but less from the USA). If you are really determined to keep a US-based focus, you can use the Google AdWords keyword tool to look at how much of the search volume for any given keyword is coming from the USA and then set up your blog posts to target only those keywords. To boost your US-based referring site traffic, seek out other websites that already have a primarily American audience and obtain backlinks from these sites (for example, commenting on a popular American political blog will usually work). As far as I know, the location of your hosting company or domain registrar does not affect the origin of your site's traffic. Nevertheless, if you have sourced reliable US-based companies for these things, this should suffice.
You can't complain about traffic from other countries. But I can see that the most efficient seo for you would be to bring traffic from the USA. Links from sites hosted in the USA would be the best bet.
