    Hello,

I have a dedicated server with 10,000 + uniques per day and over 80,000 pageviews. my dedicated server just works fine and fast during normal hours but when it comes to peak hours the server responses 10 or so seconds slower. the site uses mysql extensively with no pictures, audio or video at all. only text. only the logo section is graphic and it is 5 kb. oh and a banner which is 5 kb also.

what can i do to get the same speed performance at the peak hours? i run linux centos with 2 GB of ram

i was in the same boat for awhile there, you can upgrade your hardware, optimize your mysql query's, enable catching or a bit of each.
enabling catching will give you the biggest boost in performance.
