Traffic or Rank???

Hi,

I run a business directory http://www.projectword.co.uk.

I want to do get peoples opinions on why they would sign up to business directories.

The main reasons are:-

a) to get more traffic from the business directory

b) to get a backlink and help your site in Googles listings

If you feel both are valid reasons, please choose the most valuable one.

There are so many directory sites about business directory you can choose vmoptions.com, direcorycritic.com

 

Nowadays Only option B is the main target of people . .

 

Mainly to get a backlink.

 

I agree... Now a days only (b) to get a backlink and help your site in Googles listings.

 

For me option B. if your site is new you really need that before acquiring option a..

 

It's B. Backlink is certainly most valuable...

I'll go with b as well, most business directories and even normal directories do not send much traffic unless you are in a certain market.

 

from directory.. im also rather choose backlink. thats why high pr directory is very valuable, because its backlink and i think traffic is just a bonus.

 

If I was going to join a business directory I would look for one that could offer both a backlink and good traffic. Though if I had to choose one, it would be the link

 

Option B, cause we can get traffic from anywhere freely.

 

Directory also the categorize the website. Define to search engine which is category for used SERP.

 

i guess rank is more important than traffic in a directory business.

 

I'll take the traffic any day...because I've found that a directory that drives targeted traffic to my site really helps boost my position in the search engines. It's one of the ways to know if a directory is going to pass really good link juice.

Of course (b). Backlinks are very important..

 

For me, both traffic and rank are important. Both are interlinked, as more traffic will help google to rank the site higher. And a high PR site automatically attracts more visitors.
