Publish quality content on your blog on regular basis and submit your blog in blog submission site and also make bookmark of your blog. It will increase traffic.

 

Guest posting is another great way to promote a new blog and get traffic plus backlinks.

 

Have interesting content. =p That's the biggest and first step. From there you can always work on SEO for keywords you would like to rank for.
