Basically it's a web 2.0 social networking site. The great thing is you can build a lens (that's what they call a normal page) and it ranks really well in google. For example here is a lens I built:

to sell "wall mounted fountains" as an affiliate. If you go to google.com and do a search for "wall mounted fountains" you'll see my squidoo lens on the first page, from which I derive about 5-10 clicks a day to my affiliate page.

Certainly worth taking a look!

 

There have been some great suggestions in this thread. What I do for my new sites is go through a checklist of indexing/traffic building strategies and try to finish all of them. Some I might outsource (such as directory submissions). Some I might try to find software for to speed it up (such as submitting articles to many directories. Here are some of the items on my checklist:

- Submit to Directories. There are people on this forum advertising this service for very little.

- Submit articles, especially to the top sites like Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Article Dashboard, Search Warp, Article City. I like submitting an article a day for the first 30 days to really get the site going.

- Build some Squidoo lenses that link back to the site.

- Put a bunch of ads up on US Free Ads for a number of different keywords, all of them pointing back to various pages on the site.

- Post links to various pages of your site to social bookmarking sites such as Delicious, Digg, etc. An easy way to do this is to go get a free account at Only Wire. It will post your links to 18 different social bookmarking sites at the same time. Don't try to do this with tons of pages, though. They only allow you to post 6 links a day. That's okay, though, since you really don't want to suddenly get hundreds of backlinks to your site all at the same time. It doesn't look natural.

Submit your article to article directories such as ezinearticle.com
Create a blog site, you can make money for your blog and sure that will boost traffic for the site. Submit it to blog directories and feeds. Add links to social bookmarking site such as digg.com, stumbleupon, squidoo and a lot more and tag your keywords. Participate in the forum with your signature. Post promotion to classified ads such as craigslist and gumtree

I'm doing everything that I can right now.......I suppose I just have to sit back and wait for a few days now and see what happens.

One last thing though...........can you explain 'tagging keywords' please?
