Traffic lost after switching to VPS

    Hello,

I am not really sure what to ask but I just wanted to discuss with you that when I was hosting my site with xxx company's VPS, I did not do any special promotion of my site but it started getting 3,000+ visitors daily and over 13,000 pages.

It used to receive only 2,000+ visitors and 10,000+ pages.

But when I transferred the site to another company's VPS the traffic got down and now it is again getting only 2000 visitors and 9,000 pageviews.

What could be the reason for this? Do you have any idea?

Traffic is related to the domain name and not the server it is hosted on, so we are not sure why the difference. Maybe one hosts stats reporting program is configured differently or misreporting the information.

How are you getting these stats? Is it through Google Analytics?

Its because of your VPS ip may be not Connected with all 24 Hub server of the world. some times when we change our Hosting plan or IP than its need 7 to 10 days to reflect in all over world's router HUb and Server lookup table. Also same time when user comes from Google or other search engine its show some error in connection and ultimately you loose your traffic. So selection of VPS provider is most important thing in this type of matter because once visitor come and site down that mean now its less chance that visitor will come again to website.

I believe you need to investigate it tightly.
That colad be due to the dropped position, that could be due to the downtimes. Which uptime your current VPS has?

If you changed recently more than likely it's due to ISP's not updating their DNS servers yet to reflect your new ip.

I guess it may be some downtime cause by some problem when moving your website. If your traffic is back now everything seems to be ok.
