Traffic & Lead Generation - Is it Safe?

I've tried lots of traffic networks with varying degrees of success.

I believe conversion is impacted by numerous things: your website/product, landing page effectiveness and of course the traffic itself - the source, territory, type of traffic - e.g. pops/banners etc.

I'm sure I'll have hundreds telling me otherwise, but I don't believe "cheap" traffic works - if something sounds to good to be true it normally is!

I also think that the industry is rife with fake traffic (bots etc) - anyone got experience of this? How did you find out?

Would love to get some real insights into size and scale of the problem!

I completely agree. I've found that even so called "reputable" networks send huge amounts of fake traffic. A large North American network selling pops sent me 30% fake traffic. But having exposed them, and got extra inventory, it did actually convert really well.

Smaller traffic sellers on other hand I've seen send fake traffic of 100%! They don't even try to hide it too much and just woke on basis that even if you complain you can't get your money back!

Like you say though, find a traffic seller that is genuine, has good converting traffic then ramp it up!

Thank goodness for traffic auditing tools these days!! :)

Fake traffic never works. Won't ever get you a dime - no use, waste of money. The best way is to get natural traffic via SEO / social networking.

..of course fake traffic doesn't work! And that's my point. Most people don't know they're buying fake or fraudulent traffic when they purchase pops or banner impressions from traffic sellers.

The flagads seem like new site which the page rank is zero cause untrustable for me to try it up as well. To be honest that never try fake traffic which not only hurt your conversion rate but your site quality as well.
Buy traffic , i prefer go with PPC or CPM to get traffic rather than direct buy traffic which I believe mostly done by bots.

..which can be full of fraud traffic as well. What precautions do you take to ensure it's not fake? Just curious to know what people do!

    Go with PPC, CPC, CPM.

Make sure with below point :

    1. Do good research for your target keywords.
    2. Do select placements from your own.
    3. Create useful ads.
    4. Optimise for conversions rather than clicks (to avoid getting fraudulent clicks)
    5. Keep an eye on daily status.
    6. Cross check by delivering ads visibility in different ways.
    7. And I am sure you will get benefited. And if I am sure then for sure you can reach to your goal.

What type of traffic source do you want to try? Lead generation works and it's a safe marketing. If you're planning to build a list, hit me up, I can give you the list of solo ad vendors that works for me.

As far as I know, email, display/banner and ppc are the best traffic source that affiliate/cpa networks are using everyday. It's copy business, just copy the big boys and follow what they're doing.

    Cheers,

    Lewey

It's interesting how many people don't realise the problem of fake traffic - whether it's in PPC, lead generation or media buying. Given fraud can be 20% of your inventory cost that a huge loss before you've even started - no wonder delivering a good ROI is so difficult. Maybe there should be more awareness out there of the scale of the problem.

yeah traffic networks are good. But cheap traffics from the PTC sites are out of use. its true. So if you can get traffics from forums and other blog networks then they can be of good use. but remember that investment in traffic is not always profitable :)

Results of survey so far - a staggering 40% of you believe that when you bought traffic 25-50% of it was bot traffic.

Perhaps just as worrying 38% of you didn't know when whether your traffic campaigns had shown a profit or not!
