traffic increasing while alexa rating decreasing

My sites traffic has been steadily increasing over the last few months, but my alexa rating has been steadily deacreasing. what gives? does alexa rating even matter?

 

That's what Alexa is supposed to do, lol

 

Don't worry about Alexa, their stats are compiled from toolbar users; hardly a true indication of a site's performance...

 

The thing to remember about Alexa rankings is that they're relative to all websites, not just your site's particular niche. This means your ranking will fluctuate simply because more and more people are coming online, the WWW is getting larger, there being increasingly more websites that may be more visited than yours (though they may in no way be competitors or related to your site).

 

there is heavy bias toward webmaster & marketing related sites as well.

LOL..... another alexa thread. Today one of my sites is showing an alexa traffic of 23,644 but the traffic was just about the same at 50,000.

Alexa is not that accurate and I wish people would stop looking at it.

 

AleXa is completely wastage of time. You shouldn't worry about it.
