I have few blogs and websites, on them I get lots of traffic referred from Google search engine but don't get any traffic from yahoo or other search engine.

I remember I had submitted those sites/blogs to yahoo for indexing.

So have can I get traffic from yahoo also?

Have you placed robots.txt in your root directory ..

if yes check if you have denied yahoo there ...

Also yahoo takes longer that google to index pages.

Hi, I think this is not a problem, volume of Yahoo traffic is much lesser than Google for all. As ratio of Google Search Engine User is much higher than Yahoo Search

May be you are right But I have seen many people asking same question on many forums and what they do is they post robot.txt unknowingly which has baneed yahoo. I dont know why or how....

But yes Yahoo search has less volume and take a long time to index compared to google.

Also if google has indexed it soon yahoo goint to index

    - I have not placed robot.txt in the site.
    - Even if yahoo have relatively less traffic but I even don't see a single person referred from yahoo and about 50 daily from Google.

If you make a good page (article) you can be indexed in Google within 5 minutes, and in Yahoo (by my experience) within 24 hours.

I rank better in Yahoo than in Google for almost all my articles. Why? I guess, Yahoo appreciates good content itself, but Google requires additional factors like PR.

Most people get less traffic from yahoo than google because more persons tend to use the google serach and the seo technique for google is different from that of yahoo. The google bot is probably very active than the yahoo spider ;)

I have some visitors from yahoo for music keywords. I have some music added on my blog and almost all searches from yahoo are from there.

Yahoo and Google both are important, yes it is true that Google has major searched every day and sends lot of traffic.
I wanted to say why to miss the traffic coming from Yahoo! .

Friend Check your robots.txt file may be some problem there, Please refer to Yahoo site explorer and see your site stats.
Dont worry it will be indexed..any help just PM me.
    Good Luck!

ill take the stats open in another window as an example

    Vistors from Google (3 month) - 9534
    AOL - 7
    Yahoo - ZEROO

I am guessing that Google is not 10000 times bigger than yahoo, my site is indexed in yahoo, but not for the keywords that are bringing me in traffic from Google. Suprisingly (MAKES MY HEAD HURT), I have a page that ive been dieng to index on Google (like DYING), and i've been trying for about 2-3 weeks now, and no luck. It appears on the first page in yahoo search (which doesn't bring me any traffic)? but i know if it gets indexed in google it'll bring me a hundred or so hits a day. It makes me wonder if Google Analytics F*es Up your stats to make it seem like your getting zero clicks from yahoo when you really are. One of these days ill use another tool and compare the results and see for myself. I am just kidding by the way, i am NOT suggesting that google is doing this!! it just cant be that Yahoo is that dumb of an engine.

    Whatever...
