Hi friends, I have heard that people have seen a drop in traffic from there website from StumbleUpon. Even i have seen a slight drop, but not a drastic. Any Idea what could be the reason for such a drop. Thanks Harneet
well... stumbleupon traffic isn't good anyway ... they hardly click ads .. thats the nature of SU traffic ... so I wouldn't care abt a decrease in it
Interesting - my stumbles have increase 10x in the last month. Of course I have a stock market blog - maybe the stock market crash is good for traffic!
yeah stumble upon traffic will naturally go up and down over time. I doubt its a decrease in the total volume of stumbles, SU is as popular as ever
Can anyone share few tips how they are getting good traffic via stumble . I am getting 1k+ monthly from digg but didn't understood stumble .
I have actually attempted to do a 1 month experiment by driving traffic from Stumble Upon only in my new blog which is 1.5 months old. I managed to obtain slightly above 15,000 traffic from stumbleupon which dropped my Alexa to below 300k within 1 month. Traffic from Stumbleupon are indeed not great for monetizing your blog but I got about 1% conversion from the traffic to become regular readers. Adsense never work for me so I never bother about it anyway. I am more interested in affiliate sales which will benefit both readers and myself. Regarding the drop in traffic, it could most probably be due to the fact that you have every of your blog post being stumbled. I know this because it happened to me too during the 1 month experiment. I stopped promoting my post via SU for 1 week and the next time I promote again, it came back effective hitting close to 1.5k visitors per article I post. I would post a detailed results of my experiment later on and the tips I used to drive traffic to my blog if there is any interest on this.
Thanks my friend for the post. Even i am facing this issue with the SU. The tip to get hit on SU is to Post loads of content in your Site and promote very few and let other people to discover something on your site. thanks harneet
Good point - only promote the content that is high quality, else people will realize you are thumbing up every article/post on your site. If you stumble one out of 10, you have a much better chance of getting quality traffic - not just volumes.
