Traffic for a new blog

I have quite recently started a technology and computers blog. Though I am quite unsure how to get visitors to it. I read everywhere I need good content, but just that isn't going to bring any visitors right ? What other tips are there to bring in traffic for a new blog ?

There are plenty of resources and ideas on managing and promoting your blog. Try searching google?

 

Try to spread the url of your site

 

Do not forget to do massive blog commenting.

Link building is what I do. Let me give you some free advice:
1. Blog carnivals. Submit your posts to the appropriate categories.
2. Do follow blog commenting. Find related sites/blogs and leave insightful comments.
3. Viral blog memes. There are several sites that keep track of viral blog memes that take place daily.
4. Trackbacks. Find great content from another site, use the trackback to write your opinion on it.
5. Guest posting on other blogs. There are currently 2 sites that offer these services free of cost. Google it.
6. Article marketing. Will give you backlinks.
7. Blog Reviews. There are sites that offer free blog reviews.
8. Claim it on Technorati.
9. Add it to BlogCatalog.
10. Add it to MyBlogLog.

These are just a few. You can also use Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and other social media sites to generate traffic.

Thanks a lot, already did a few of them. Technorati, BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog do not seem to bring me any traffic though. I am quite interested in Guest Posting. How do I finds sites where I can guest post ?

Another great way of getting links, generating a buzz and
getting free traffic is by running contests.

There are sites that lists blog contests. Some are free and
others charge a small fee.

Use FACEBOOK to promote your new site, well you have a great niche about "computer", you can create FACEBOOK FANS PAGE and than share them to your friends and asking them to share with other friends.

 

social media marketing will be more helpful at initial stage.

if you are doing seo, results will be seen after 1-2 months... do that also..

but initially start with facebook and twitter to promote your website

Start off by writing a few articles per day, and submit your posts to some bookmarking sites.

 

update your blog regularly and share it on twitter, facebook, and other social networking sites. This will help you to get more visitors.

 

You should also put your link in your signature.

 

When starting a new blog you need to just write good articles on a regular basis.
You are unlikely to recieve high volumes of traffic to start with.
