Right now I'm using couple of traffic exchange system, which helped me to promote my website a bit, but the thing is that bounce rate has been raised to the danger zone..

I'm thinking of getting rid of it later but right now my website gets about 500 UV per day. Stat showing that about half of the visitors are from traffic exchange.

Should I keep it until I can do 500 UV without the traffic exchange? Or should I just let it go from now on?

Do you get any conversions from the traffic exchange at all? Normally it's crappy traffic you can't use for anything.

Do some social bookmarking and stuff instead

Generally speaking, traffic exchanges are all about quantity rather than quality. However, there are 3 that I really like and use regularly for various reasons:-

Ad Ventures 4u - They share all their profits with their members. You can earn money either as a free or paid member.

Link Referral - You get reviews of your sites, and I've had quite a few sign ups using this one.

Easy Hits 4U - This one's a pleasure to use, and has a great referral program.

Those are mostly virtual visitors, not real traffic

you gotta target people on traffic exchanges for what they're there for, and that's more traffic, whip up an e-book or lure them away with free traffic tips.....personally I feel trying to get opt-ins are the best way of going about it for a list.

Still even when you do it that way, traffic exchanges aren't really good for making a business of.

But I would also agree that he should try it out since he uses traffic exchanges as his main part of traffic.

If you have a DYNAMITE landing page targeted specifically to the surfer, then you might do okay... But a bland or generic landing page and you can forget it... Problem is.. a lot of those are on autosurf and your ads/pages rarely get seen.

    Hi,
I have used a few traffic exchanges. They do seem to be good at getting sign-ups at least to other traffic exchanges! If you keep at it then you can develop such a huge number of hits that you'd have to find some success with other programs.

I agree. Getting people to sign up to your list should be the main focus of traffic exchanges. Once you have them on your list, then you can promote to them. You need to have a great squeeze/landing page that targets surfers and makes them want to sign up.

I signed up for easy hits 4u. I get tones of traffic, no conversions though. I kind of regret paying the year in advance after reading this thread. It does seem like a contrived way to get traffic. Aren't we all just preaching to the choir when we sign up for traffic exchanges?

I'm on Link Referral too - same thing, except it's even more work than Easy Hits 4u.

I guess the thing to hope for us is that someone will sign up per your referral.

Having referrals is the key because your referrals will earn credits for you so that you don't have to spend so much time surfing for them. Let your referrals do the hard work for you. ;)
