Traffic Exchanges: how do they affect SERP/SEO

the title is kinda self explanatory, but i will point more in depth what i really mean:

Sites indexed in traffic exchange get affected in a negative way for search engine inclusion/ranking

are this kind of exchanges recommended to get extra visitors?

Any other advise about the subject is welcome!

    thanks in advance!

To use traffic exchanges (auto surfs, manual surfs, exit exchanges, etc) is to create a landing page.
Do not use your website url, but a landing page to get the one in a million who surf these sites to visit your site.

    Are not your website.
It is simply a page where you put some information and a link to your website.
Will not (or should not) affect serps, rankings, blah blah blah.

As far as using these for traffic?
    Called pissing in the wind.
You will get traffic, just no visitors.

it depends on way u r exchanging, dont exchange with sites that have links from illegal site or adult related, u can exchange in 3 way links rather then direct exchange .it is always good to have 1 way backlinks from revelant sites.
if sites dont have high traffic with revelant topic dont exchange with them , it effect u negetative and u loose even traffic u have presently
