traffic estimator

im not sure this is the right place for it...but could somebody tell me please how can i check the traffic of a cirtain site is getting?
which i dont own by the way...

For estimation you can use http://www.alexa.com/ or http://www.statsaholic.com/

 

There is statbrain.com but I don't think it's the most accurate tool on the internet.

 

It's not accurate at all! I tried to see what it says about my personal blog. My personal blog has about 200 visits per day. Statbrain.com estimated a traffic or more than 2500 visits per day .

 

I have tried that tool with two of my sites, and is not good, but not as bad as for damircea:
- For site1, the estimation was pretty accurate (estimated 120% of real traffic)
- For site2, the estimation was poor (estimated 300% of real traffic)

 

Public statistics are highly inaccurate. Both statbrain and statsaholic are wildly inaccurate for me.

 

Statsaholic sucks. It seems to give my site as having around 300 daily uniques. That's almost correct when you add the 'X10' factor

 

http://compete.com/ - Is quite good if the site(s) is relatively high traffic.

 

Hrm, compete.com is alright, but I also don`t think it`s very accurate.

 

alexa shows some how a good estimate for all sites. But I thing it's also not accurate.

Quantcast can show you accurate stats but requires some code installation on site. You can see stats of only qunatified sites.
