Last week I received an e-mail from Google and one of the topics was the announcement that the traffic estimator stats are now updated monthly. The announcement read: "Selecting new keywords to meet your campaign goals can be challenging, including the process of getting traffic and cost estimates on potential keywords. We are pleased to announce that traffic estimates are now being updated monthly. As a result, the data will be more accurate than it has been in the past. The specific date that the data will be updated will change from month to month." I don't think making it more accurate would be all that difficult. When you start with "not at all accurate" it should be pretty easy to move to "a little better than before" ps - I wonder how often the estimates were upadated before?
I'm still waiting for them to come good on their promise to include actual numbers in their traffic estimation tools I saw some time ago..... again, not that it will be accurate but at least it would be better than a PR style graph...
Hi GuyFromChicago, Thanks for the info, but do you remember what you subscribed to, to get that email in the first place? I couldn't find it anywhere in my inbox I feel left out.
It's not an e-mail that's sent as a result of a subscription Maybe this is what you're looking for? https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox?hl=en_US
Great, now we get unaccurate data more often. Something tells me that's not a good thing. We long ago built our own Google traffic estimation models out of necessity. This is one thing they've *never* be able to get right, at least for any one advertiser.
