Yes..its majorly bcoz of ranking drop...u also hav got 1 reason for it...plus see whether u hav lost few of ur backlinks or they ve been no-followed. nd ys...page load time really matters a lot for SEs nd visitors both.
I think this is a real Global issue. Because, I am facing the similar problem with the blog named techalone.com and a big decrease in the CTR also. And the interesting thing is that, my SEPR is improving than the older days...
This is exactly it. Google is reevaluating your content because you did a major change. Good news is you will come back and most likely be just as strong as ever (perhaps even increase). I just got out of of these myself, went from 9ish/15ish back to 60ish on a major keyword based on a change in content ... lasted about a week and a half and now I'm right back where I was.
You said it yourself. It is the change in the on page SEO.. When you change themes, you should not try to break the structure of page including H1 and H2 tags.
If you have google analytics account, Please find most traffic given keywords before traffic dropping. Once you get these keywords, find the ranking of these keywords. They might be drop in ranking. There may be few important keyword, which drop in ranking..........dropping cause may be. 1. Updation in meta tags. 2. Site penalization due to unethical seo activity. Try to find out main problem with your website.
Google is going through a change in the algorithm there will be alot of changes before it is all said and done. I have actually jumped up into the top 100 for some very competitve keywords. Sorry to hear about your loss though any way a good article to read about the change is http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/04/20/google-set-to-change-ranking-algorithm they shed some light on why google is going through the changes.
Same problem here, traffic down on all my sites. Actually thank god there is Yahoo, at least I am getting some traffic. Of course traffic down, adsense down, makes you wonder if Google likes punishing people for working hard and doing well.
yikes! that plane sucks... i am starting to get traffic from google now... i think i will start to look for another source, they seem unreliable to me
The Googls staff make 1-3 changes in ranking algorithm daily. I had a situation when one my site lost all positions and traffic (blog on wordpress) and another (company site, simple html) - grows up, all this during one night. Thats was leave result of algorithm changes. Maybe you can just wait for next changes.
The little change with the h2 that you mentioned has changed thousands of webpages on your site (on page seo) and might have triggered a filter causing you to lose rankings. The good thing about filters is that if you undo the changes you've made, you'll get your rankings back.
