Traffic down this time of the year?

My traffic has been much lower lately (about a week ago or so).

Maybe it's because people are spending more time with the family and friends at this time of the year?

Yeah I am experiencing the same. I guess most sites except shopping ones experience this drop.

Couple of my sites have slight surge in traffic, but the rest are showing lower numbers. I think you are right about the holiday having an effect on lower traffic in general.

Its true, even my google traffic got down by almost 40%, i think shopping/gift related sites might be getting most of it now.

Yes, there has definitely been a decline in hits lately. I would dare explain these fluctuations by the holidays. People might be spending more time at home than usual but with their computers off :)

I do also experience a drop of traffic in most of my sites.. Just like what happened during the same time every year.

This doesn't matter, try adding more and better content to get attached with the same visitors and catch new visitors :)

Same shit here, 50% less traffic..........
Is it Google updating or generally people just don't spend their holidays in front of the computer?

All my traffic is down and its no surprise as many people have put away the internet and focused on shopping for christmas presents and having family events. I would expect another 2 weeks of slow activity!

Yes, traffic normally goes down as people are visiting family and spending less time on their computers over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

It depends on your website. I have winter sports and christmas websites and traffic has risen.

Sure, well if you have a winter or Christmas type site, your traffic does likely spike, but for general sites (non-seasonal) I think the decline in traffic is usually evident. Glad to hear your traffic is up!

It depends on two things: your topic/niche (like everybody say), AND also your visitors countries ... not everybody has holidays now. Where I'm living the holidays are just one day (the 1st Jan).

I have a website where traffic is down about %40.
My adsense CPC is also very down (except today, I don't know what happens but earnings are like crasy :D !!)

Check google trends and adwords trends for your specific industry. The cycles are pretty obvious there if you know how to look.

Yup, my traffic has dropped roughly 20% on most my sites as Christmas came (last 2 days), however I'm expecting them to go back up after New Years.
