Traffic & Clicks Up But eCPC down?

My site has been up and down (position-wise) on Google this month and it got back on the first page for most of it's keywords a couple of days ago much like it was earlier this month.

In fact yesterday was my highest traffic day ever, and I had my highest number of clicks on adsense ever.

And yet my eCPC has dropped from around 31.5 cents to just 22.5 cents which means yesteday wasn't my highest revenue day :(

Why do you suppose this has happened?

This is the first time I have seen an average eCPC this low.

earnings dont rise in proportion to impressions/clicks

i have several huge sites (500-600k adsense page impressions and rising) and i have seen this happen over and over

actually i make almost same now as a year ago, but today i have 3-4 times the traffic :(

Glad to see it isn't just me, but I don't see why this has happened now....like I said my site has been on page 1 of Google before and that was just over 2 weeks ago; why/how has the eCPC dropped 9 cents between then and now?

I dont know if the niche of my site would have been affected at all by xmas, in fact I would say it should've got down at that time.

My eCPC wasn't any better yesterday as I reached a new record for adsense clicks and while I did have my record single day through adsense ($228) if my eCPC was at the same level as a week ago I would have made $300+

Oh well I suppose I shouldn't complain, at least my site is back on page 1 of Google....if it weren't then I wouldn't be nearly as happy as I am now :)
