    hi Guys

Does anybody know if SKY is a trademark listed with google.

ads been running for 4 days and just been taken off for trademark violation.

    Is there a defining list.

    Help much appreciated.

Usage usually determines whether or not it is trademark infringement. An ad saying "Blue Sky Wallpapers" is a lot different than "SKY Sports News". There could be twenty different trademark holders on "sky" but permitted, non-infringing usage could still be possible. It would be impossible to have a list of trademark violations because it would depend on your exact usage. You can check the USPTO.gov site for registered trademarks.

Adwords tells you right away when you create your ad that a certain term is trademarked. If it is, you can ask for an exception. This happens because Adwords checks words against their trademark database and words can have different meanings. For example, all of Major League Baseball's team names are trademarked. But it could happen that you have an ad mentioning "angels" that has nothing to do with the team. As for an exception if the system says it's trademarked.

Companies ask Google to place their trademarks on their list all the time. There is no such thing as a current list. You can have an ad that runs for months or years and suddenly Google says you can't use it anymore because of trademark infringements.

Common symbols can be placed by holding your Alt key and typing the 3-digit code for that symbol. Note you should use the keypad, not the numbers above the top row of your keyboard.

    Alt-156 £ (British pound sign)
Alt-169 ⌐ should show up as circled C copyright symbol, try Alt-0169 if doesn't work ©
    Alt-0153 â„¢ trademark symbol

You can always copy and paste the symbol from another document into your ad.

I don't think there is such a thing as a circled TM symbol. Note that it is a superscript character, it is half height showing in the top half of the field.
