Whats with Google Adwords complaining that certain words are "Trademarked" If you sell the product, why can you not advertise the fact you sell it?!?!? Can some one please shine some light on this for me thank you
Companies can ask Google to forbid advertisers from using the trademarks in the body of ads. They cannot stop you bidding on the keywords. You can get permission from the company to use their trademark in Google - they just fill out a form and include your publisher ID.
Ok but thats insane. If i sell nike shooes i have to get nike's permissions to advertise that? I have about 200 keywords that google has decided to mark as "trade marked" . Im now about to write to each and every company especialy since im only doing market reaserch.
Think of it from the brand's perspective. They would be bidding on the same terms you, as a retailer/reseller, would be, thus bringing up their costs and lowering their ROI. They would also be opening themseleves up for their competition to use said brand in their ads. Additionally, they wouldn't have control over the way these ads are being presented to the public(possibly cheaping the brand with discount related terms, or using superlatives). By giving permision to certain advertisers, they can control, to a certain point, the search landscape for their branded keywords.
Problem is my words are pharmacudicals. Only licensed pharamcies CAN sell/dispense them So the manufacturer is SOL anyway! Im allowed to selling their product.. Why do i have to jump through hoops to do so...
