trademarked keywords

I know you can't put in trademarked terms in the title, so I thought about going down the dynamic keyword insertion route, only to find that it won't let me do that either.

What is frustrating though is that I see plenty of ads with the same keyword that I want to use. So how is this done??

Let's say I want keyword "digital" and it is trademarked. I tried to set my adwords title to "{keyword:digital} blah for sale". Rejected.

Any thoughts? How are all these other advertisers doing it?

Perhaps it is to do with the context you are using the trademarked terms in? For instance, I've noticed some UK destinations are apparently trademarked (they must be in some contexts) but I put an exception request in using the Adwords Editor stating I'm using it purely as a destination in an ad.

I guess this isn't the solution to your problem but I thought it was worth checking.

Trademark holders are able to whitelist certain AdWords accounts (such as affiliates or authorized resellers or partners) to allow them to use the trademark.
