What is the situation regarding using trademark terms in adverts? e.g. could you use the term "cingular ringtones" in an Adwords advert? Or is that not allowed?

    Thanks,

    Jon

Some companies with trademarks have objected and those will be denied - although some authorized dealers, agents, etc., will be granted an exception. I don't think you will have a problem with the term you mentioned - as there are many campaigns running with it. Adwords will let you know if you try to use a trademarked term where the owner has objected.

IT varies if companies will let oyu use their trademark or not.. and depending on what you are doing if you are promoting and affiliate or just your site could effect this also.

Its a bit of a grey area, best bet is to drop them an email and ask for their tm policies, they may be ok if you comply with their requirements
