Hello. I have a question about trademarks and it would be great if you could help me out with this thing

    Ok...

For example the company named "X" with "X" trademark has the website Y.com (Y - is not the trademark, its just the name of the website)
Can i buy leggaly Y.org Y.net ? Can i lose in a lawsuit? For example if they sue me?

    Thank you

If there is no trademark that you are violating with Y.org or Y.net, then there would be no grounds for a lawsuit against you. Check at Trademarkia or elsewhere to see if you'd be infringing on anybody's mark. If not, go ahead.

as long as Y is not trademarked, you should be allright. The are plenty examples on the web where .com/.net/.org are all different sites owned by different businesses/organizations, that's how it was meant to be when .org/net TLDs were created

Another thing worth mentioning here is that it depends on what you decide to do with Y.net or Y.org

If they are selling computers via Y.com and you try to piggyback off of them and do something computer related on your lesser extension this could cause you big trouble even if they do not have an officially registered TM in my opinion, and not worth the risk.
