Trademark dilemmas

So I wanted to start an affiliate type site for a Vonage referral site. Planned to put the Vonage name in the ad copy but adcopy was rejected due to the trademark. I see and understand that... But if you google the phrase "vonage", there are a "ton" of vonage related sponsored links on the pages. I'm assuming "vonage" doesn' own all those sites.

Are those sites just clearly being missed by Google? I know i can bid on the term but how those other sites exist with the trademark clearly in display is puzzling....

They may be allowed to - TM owners can tell Google which accounts are authorized to use a TM in the ad copy.

Many affiliate programs will add affiliates to their TM whitelist. Contact your affiliate manager to see if you can get whitelisted.
