Trademark Bidding on ".com" name

If an affiliate offer for ABC.com says I can't bid on "ABC.com" or any variation of the trademarked term (including misspellings) then is it still ok to bid on the following:

    ABC com reviews

Wondering whether the "." between ABC and com makes a difference or not.

Can anyone answer that? Don't want to get in trouble.

I'm pretty sure it is still a violation, since the intent is to rank for "ABC.com", regardless of the syntax.

Thanks for the response. That's where I'm leaning as well. Better to be safe than sorry and leave out the "com."

    Thanks again!

I used to do that all the time with keywords that had "ebay" in them - and then, their affiliate program changed the TOS to include anything "misleading", which I found to be the case for all trademarks too!

He has put in an offer for it? Then what is the problem? He hasn't bought it yet.

And even if he did, it is perfectly ok to buy a domain that is similair to that one. Or, hell, try going with another extension, like. FM. That is what I did.

I mean, come on, think about it. Use your common sense here.

Don't worry about it. Just make sure your site is not like his!
