I have decided to share the best of what I know without charging money for it in an effort to learn something I may be missing as well. However, I am also not going to simply give away what i know for free either. Instead, I am willing to share an SEO secret of mine for one from you in return. You can post publically or we can PM. However you decide, but I promise to be fair as I expect you to be as well. No cheap tips from me, nor from you. They should be very substantial trades and if you toss me a basic SEO tip, that's all you will get back from me.

Now I realize that some of you may know some of this stuff, while others will be very enlightened. So without further ado, I'll start.

    Tip #1
Use WordPress software to create even basic websites if they are going to be optimized for search engines. Doing this allows much flexibility and will make the on-page SEO efforts much easier, as well as set the groundwork for some off-page optimizing. When setting permalinks for the htaccess file to be used with apache mod rewrite, don't use the default setting which sets your pages to /folders/ instead of pages. You should rather use "Custom Structure" and put this in the box and save; /%postname%.html
The page will now look like /page.html instead of /page/

Even though the benefit for a static page over a sub folder is very of little significance, it is still important because if you do many very small SEO techniques, they all add up to be very significant.

Along with this tip, I am going to throw in that a wordpress site that is created in the root directory will be a little better than in a sub folder. I mention this because Google favors root level pages over 1,2,3 and deeper levels of pages on a site.

So in conclusion, your site will do best with wordpress software installed in the root directory with permalinks set to static pages instead of folders.
    Example:

    mysite.com/seo-page.html
    mysite.com/seo-page2.html
    mysite.com/seo-page3.html
    mysite.com/seo-page-and-so-on.html

This tip has been tried, tested and true and is not theory.

Better tips to come with an equal trade. :D

    Thanks in advance for participating.

Oh man, I love old news! Wordpress alone won't help you tremendously with your SEO, sure you can do fancy permalinks but nothing beats installing the All In One SEO plugin.

    Plain and simple.
