Tracking your traffic

I am just wondering, are you tracking your traffic with a service like Hits Connect or something else?

I have tried a few, but never Hits Connect.

    What do you suggest?

I am using Google Analytics for my stats, but I am thinking maybe I need a more detailed tracking service (for instance when it comes to split testing).

    Thanks

    Jens

Im content enough with analytics to be honest, its good to know your traffic, but i dont believe in spending too much time over it, i check daily and analytics is more than enough for me.

One thing I like about Stat Counter is I can view all my sites at once. (visits and page views)

    I wish analytics did that.

Although I use both analytics AND stat counter on all my sites.

I used extreme tracker and google. I like extreme tracker because it gives me what I want to see without all that other jazz. I can see total uniques for today, search engine queries etc. I use google mainly for referral traffic and to track my pageview per user.

Google analytics is incredibly powerful if you're trying to track conversions from visitors to actual cash money events. It takes a bit of work to set up conversion tracking, but then you can follow which traffic sources lead to the most buyers.

I think that Google Analytics is powerful enough.

I use Google analytics on most of my major sites, but I actually still prefer Awstats (that come with CPanel). I like it simple, all on one page and to the solid facts. However I do notice quite a difference between the UV between the 2... i'm not sure how accurate Awstats is.

Unless I missed it, I do not believe that Google Analytics shows you the IP addresses pr domains that the unique visitors come from. The free version of statcounter shows the last 500 unqiue visitors with that information, their geographical location, the referring link, their entry page, exit page and more. I do not see that level of detail in Google Analytics.

Note that Google Analytics and other webcounters are not mutually exclusive. E.g., I use Google and statcounter for my websites. They are both good.
