How can I see the monthy traffic to a domain that I don't own?

Some dude is selling it and it seems too good to be true.

    GrAveTzT,

Alexa provides an order of magnitude if its working. Otherwise check out the rankings - on digitalpoint - and guesstimate.

Or if you're contemplating buying, ask him to put your tracking code like Google Analytics, Statcounter etc. on the site for a couple of days.

I agree with the earlier posters, you need independent 3rd party traffic stats.

You might also want to look at where and how the site is hosted. If it's on a $2.95 hosting account, then the traffic numbers might be a tad inflated :)

If you are looking at 3rd party stats, look for some history, and watch out for spikes caused by running clickbots.;)

Any serious owner selling a site should have signed up for independent stats well before the sale so that history could be shown.

If you are looking for something quick and dirty, see the bottom link in my sig.

yes...But I recommend google analytics...as statcounter and all page hits counters count just hits and not page views!

Actually. Statcounter does. You just need to drill down to find it.

    Actually, that's not quite right.

Anything that is based on javascript tagging is geared towards the measurement of pageviews, and not hits. It is the nature of the beast.

If you take a look at my sig, you can pretty well guess where my opinion comes from:D
