    Default Tracking PPC
    Hi all

This may sound like a stupid question but I was wondering if anyone could help:

How do you track PPC keywords when sending traffic to your affiliate site before directing to the merchant site?

I have a hoplink on my site which tracks clicks, sales etc

However, if I send traffic from PPC and then that user clicks on the original hoplink on my affiliate site, how does it know what keyword drove the sale?

I guess the question is: how do you add the needed parameters to the URL string to pull through data such as keyword, ad group etc?

    Thanks

    Silv

    Use the CB tid.

I actually have never promoted clickbank products but have used this:
    http://www.xconversions.com/

and still do to this day.

    Well worth the investment.

there is a simple free php script which does this, or you can contact the publisher and ask him to put the google conversion tracking code on his site, that way, you will be able to directly track the conversions from adwords

I would love to find a better way of tracking as well. I was thinking PPC can be tracked easily enough by passing a TID to my site and then using PHP to replace the default TID I have set. I don't have any ideas for tracking traffic from referring sites or searches though. It would be great if the publishers could include the Google Analytics Ecommerce, but I don't know if that's practical.

I've been working with the Google AdWords Conversion Tracking Code and it's useful, but doesn't tell the full story by itself. Even if you see a conversion for your campaign and you have a sale that day, they may not be the same sale. The conversion showing in AdWords could mean that someone clicked on your ad and then clicked on at least one other ad before making a purchase.

If you're direct linking you don't even need a php script, just use a different TID for each keyword, you need the php script if you have a landing page

Anyone with basic php knowledge can do this. I wrote a good example on nichechoppers.com forums.
