I have several companies who place their products in my online catalog. So what I would like to do is on the link that goes to their actual site for the customer to see and buy the product, I want the link to be a link on my site then redirect to their site. I used to use meta refresh redirects so that I could see the number of times people clicked the various pages so I knew what people on my site were interested in. But I am told that search engines do not like these meta refresh redirects and are banning sites using them because of the spam issue. I then thought I could do it through the htaccess redirect but it seems the original page does not show the traffic as the redirect is processed server side and by passes the original page. I am sure others are using something that will help. All I want to do is know everyday how many people are clicking on what link before it goes to the other company. any suggestions?? thank you
