Ladies & Gentlemen of the SEO industry:

How do you track your organic conversions? I use Google Analytics currently but have two conflicting & nagging considerations:

    A) Perhaps I have been misinterpreting analytics because when I look at our A/R, we've generated revenue that must have come from organic traffic but is not being reported appropriately. .

    and

    B) Analytics seems to not be as much of a well-oiled machine as Google would like us to think & does not report EXACT figures.

I'm not really looking for a step by step tutorial here, I'm just curious about what some of my peers are doing to track their organic traffic conversions.

    Thanks!

Have a look at the Goals function in Analytics... set it up so that a purchase is a completed goal. You can also use goal funnels to see where people are dropping out & what percentage of visitors purchased something.

No analytics program is perfect, they all have different methods of tracking visitors. GA is javascript based so if someone visits your site without JS enabled - no visitor in GA reported ... however this is a tiny minority of people these days.
