tracking id for clickbank

This affiliate marketing thing is even more complicated than I expected  I followed the basic steps, I found a niche, developed a website for it and presently working on getting traffic ....now I read in clickbank that there is an option to create a tracking id for the product that you are promoting and presently I don't have that. Now, how do you actually make that? Do I need to purchase some kind of a tracking tool...

Sometimes I am thinking if this is really worth it...it requires a lot of time. But I am inspired by some of the posts that I read here so I am not about to give up. But if I don't make money in 3 months time, then this business is not for me.

you can add any tracking ID that you want. no need for tracking tools. whatever tracking ID you add will simply show up in your reporting stats. Very useful if you have multiple websites

Yeah', say you add the tracking ID "1" to a hoplink, then if someone purchases through that link then it shows up in clickbank. It's basically for tracking which particular link someone bought it through.

Well, even you didn't have any tracking ID, but once your hoplink has been clicked out by someone, you still can trace it at the "Analytic" report as "No Tracking ID" too.
