Tracking hits from bookmarks

Is there anyway to track visits from people using a bookmark?

I thought about affixing an identifier on the bookmark url (ie, www. mysite.com?refer=bookmark) and then checking that identifier in my daily stats. That might work.

Is there any "built-in" method that people use?

    Thanks.

Just lump bookmark traffic with type in traffic and check that.

You can use sitemeter from sitemeter.com, which shows clearly where the traffic comes from.

Really? I've used Sitemeter in the past but can't recall seeing a stat for bookmark traffic.

I'll have to revist them. Thanks.
