Tracking conversion newbie question

I know that this question has been asked a few times earlier, but I need to know sure whether there is a solution for it or not.

As my title says I am a newbie with Adwords, I have read a lot and one thing is not clear yet; for instance I am promoting affiliates through cj.com, is there a way to track the conversion of a sale that has been made on landing page number 22 of the 150 landing pages I have? And with which keywords has the sale converted?

I have read that a conversion code can be put on the "thank you page" but since CJ.com are not offering that service, does it mean there is no way to track the sales conversions?

    Help is appreciated

    Hi Pilar,

You may insert the same conversion code at any or all of those 150 pages you have, (in the page that confirms conversion). Adwords gives you one code per account. Then it automatically will track the Ad on where the user cliked, as well as the Keyword he used, then of course, that ad belong to a campaing. SO you will always have separate conversion info and you will know what page converted.

Please let me knoe if you need anything else.

    regards
    ME.

    Hi PPC4EVER,

I appreciate your help, but as far as I understand the conversion code of Adwords I have to put this conversion code into the "Thank you page", right? Which means the page of the MERCHANT. And since I am promoting the affiliates through cj.com there is no way to put the conversion code into the merchant page.

So in fact what you were saying by "insert the same conversion codes at any or all my 150 landing pages" does not make sense to track a conversion sale, am I right or not?

I thought it goes like this:

[[ADWORDS AD]] --> [[LANDING PAGE]] --> [[MERCHANT SITE]]
So in fact, if I want to track a conversion sale, I should put the conversion code on the merchant site, right? As far as I know that is not possible, but how is it possible for cj.com affiliates (and others) to track a conversion sale and from which landing page?

I hope I have explained it clear what I mean

    Thank you!

Ahh , sorry I thought you had access to the page code. So in this case you can't use the adwords code...

Doesn't JC give a control panel to track your sales? I don´t know i´m just guessing, I´ve never done affiliations.

If JC enables you to access an affiliate control panel, I guess you have o trust what data it shows...

    Regards.

You can pass the keyword through their "sid" variable. Then run a report on those and you'll see which keywords converted.
