    Hi All,
First please note that i am complete noob when it comes to affiliate marketing. Recently i joined cj with my 2 websites. Applied for links and got accepted. Also please note that when i got the links for banners n all, you see a option for selecting your website, i selected one of them and got the links.

In addition i bought some advertising through bsa(buysellads.com) and used the same links which i got earlier.

But now as i login into my cj account i see that ad impressions are pretty less, although i have placed my ads on pretty high traffic websites. I mean for eg. today the cj was showing 12 impressions while the bsa advertiser section showed me around 7000 impressions. And i can believe bsa as my ads placed on pretty high traffic websites.

So, can any one explain why this is happening, is this due to the fact that i didn't add those websites to my cj account at which ads are being displayed, for which i bought the advertising. I can't add those websites as they are not mine and i am just using them for advertising.

I am totally confused over the whole impression thing, it will be great if someone can explain it to me.

    Thanks in advance :) .

When you log into CJ's member area, under 'Quick Tasks' are you seeing any 'invalid links'? You might be violating a merchant's ToS specifically relating to Direct linking. When you say you purchased ads at buysellads.com and you used the links generated from CJ, this sounds like Direct Linking.

I would recommend purchasing ad space and direct the user to your two sites. From there they would click on the product link or banner. This is not direct linking.

To find out if a merchant allows direct linking look for this info in ToS, or Search restrictions in the merchant's detail page.

    Hi Hanji,
Thanks for the invalid links suggestion, i checked the invalid links section, there were none, i mean the count was 0. And also read the tos of all the advertisers, they have nothing specific against direct linking, which means i am safe.

The main problem is with the impressions, i mean they are not getting properly updated. Don't know what is going wrong and where :-|
