Tracker not working

Discussion in 'Keyword Tracker' started by sincerely, Jan 2, 2006.

My keyword tracker does not appear to be working.
It will not refresh and always shows 23 links still being checked... for several days now.

What happens if you check one manually (click on it), does it say anything in red?

Are you using the advanced usage script? What's the URL you are checking (exactly as entered)?

great - it just told me I reached the max limit of 1000 requests. Before this I tried one request without http and itwent through fine, but I can't find it anywhere on my list though - did it automatically combined it with the existing http version of the url? Well, I guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow now.

It just takes forever until I finally give up and go leave the site.

I am checking he-and-she.com with the www (forum won't let me enter it) some use the http and some not.
If by advanced you mean the script for also running it on Yahoo and MSN, yes I am using that. I have been using the service for well over a year without any problem.

Have you tried it without the advance usage script (since that's going to be dependent on the server you are running it on, we can cut that out of the equation then).

I too get a lot of Google errors:
    Unknown Google server error
for instance on agape - www.agape.nl

MSN gives "Invalid argument supplied for foreach()" errors (see other thread)

So only Yahoo is functioning properly at this moment.

I am running tracker at this moment. I had a lot of red yesterday and had to hand check each individual entry that showed red. By end of day had found all but a handful. Think it was a Google problem. I have been using tracker since beginning and you just have occasional days when the big G is squirrelly.

I have a whole bunch or red results today too. Manual check doesn't change the results. Shawn, do you think you could just automatically take out the http:// part? Otherwise that's a lot of deleting one by one to do.

I am also getting a google error when I manually try to run the ones that didn't work on auto - about 1/4 of them showing -9,998, etc..

had a handful yesterday also, but it is a different group for the most part today and many are no1 or no2 type spots that are getting the error. Most are keywords that I have been tracking for the whole time.

As far as I can tell, it just looks like another day (seems to happen often) where Google's API servers are running more crappy than normal.

I am having better luck later in the daythan in morning. I finally got all but about 10 of mine. The thing is I get a Google server error one minute, try again and it works like a charm. In the grand scheme of things - just a minor annoyance. Shawn has spoiled us and by George we want instant gratification.

Just a tip to quickly update your keywords manually - or dis-/enable them:

Use Firefox: hold down the Alt and click on all the keywords. The links open in new tabs so you don't have to wait for the screen to refresh.

In IE you can hold down the shift so that the links open in new windows. That isn't quite so effective, but is quicker non the less.
