I wish I could add more insightful information, but after using this great tool daily for a just a couple of weeks, it now seems to refuse to work. I am using the advanced script and have been from the start. I've changed nothing on my server, but the loads have been higher on my server the past few days slowing down the response to all requests - this tool included I'd guess. The other change was adding backlinks where there were none before. I don't think I'm going close to my api limit. And when it was working, I'd check all once per day - that's it. Any ideas? Cookies and cache are cleared too. Thanks,
Doing as you suggest now. Back links seemed to track okay. Running keywords but all seem to be kicking the -98XX error. No, wait. Many of those errors, but getting some correct results too. Just displaying google for the moment. Turned on results for ALL. Some there for all SEs. Hmmmm. This seems to have helped. So, my server is somehow to blame?
That would be my guess. If you have another server to try to run the script on it, I would give that a go.
Just tried it today. Advanced script off. Check all. Waited a few minutes. Clicked refresh to see if it was making progress. No error message - it just kicked me out to the logged-in start page. Started another check. Hit refresh again. Still seems to be running. Strange... Edit Starts: Waited and refreshed again. Kicked me out to non-track mode again (logged-in, main menu). No back links checked. 2 keywords checked.
Yes to the cookies on. Netscape 7.2 Again, this was working perfectly for day after day... I've changed nothing on my side as far as I know - other than that posted here. Thanks Shawn
Nothing has changed on this end. Have you tried it with a different browser to see if it's something specific to your browser?
just tried IE w/o advanced script. same problem. Edit: went in to edit info to also test w/ advanced script. clicked "update my account" and it won't save or close - this now with IE. Timed out - cannot find server.
But Shawn, the first time I tested IE was without the advanced script. With the advanced script left off as before for testing, I tried IE for the first time. No cache. No cookies. Never used IE. And it failed the same way. Just for laughes I tried to turn the script on after.
Hmmm... after looking at it, I'm not really sure. It looks like maybe the server is blocking requests from the IP address that the keyword tracker is running on. Pinging from that server directly fails, but another server (physically next to it on the same subnet) is fine.
I'll look into that - is it kicking a 403? I just looked (not too deeply) into the logs - did not see any 403 - just one 200 from one of your ips.
Not even a 403... the whole IP address seems to be blocked (won't respond to pings from that server).
