The BIN/bank identification number, the first 4 or 6 digits of a credit/debit card number can be used to trace the issuing bank's name, location/country and telephone number. Services like maxmind offer this functionality. Is there any free service which can be used to lookup BIN numbers? I found Bindatabase.com by reading through wikipedia, but it isn't operational anymore.
