Hi guys. Me and my friends have some really really crazy ideas. We wanted to start something of DIGG + PING + friends networking site. I know its crazy, but we wanted to do some experiments on it. :)

    So, my questions are :
    - What programmers do I need?

    - How do I get started?

I know its crazy and might not happen -- but at least I die trying .

http://www.pligg.com is a free script that let's you run your own website like Digg.
You can also search http://hotscripts.com for free scripts that might help you out.
Also you should learn PHP and learn to use it with MySQL so you can modify code and write your own code.

You would just need a single programmer/ developer (or company) and they would be able to pick up your requirements.

That is not a crazy idea

It is a very good idea

You might try doing a Google search for

    free networking script

or something like that. Most free scripts do not always work out well

but it should at least give you something to go on.

Also Digg I have been told has that nofollow so if somebody bookmarks

your site you do not get credit for the incoming link. That is probably

why Digg is so popular, they get less spam. Would you do it the same way?
