but don't hold it against me!!

I've just opened my Clickbank account and had a look at products to promote though haven't selected any yet...so, step by step..

where is the best place to get my website from?
do i have to pay or can you get it free?

    many thanks Foxeter

A good way to start would to be to pick a product, buy a .info domain name (very cheap). Redirect that domain to your affiliate link for the product you chose. Start writing articles for ezinearticles, and put your .info domain in your resource box. One advantage to going through a domain, rather than to a free blog, is that if you decide to develop the domain into a website, you have the advantage of all the backlinks and traffic that you have been building and sending there from ezinearticles and other places.

Using the method I describe will kind of do that for you automatically. You will send people to "FoxetersDomain.info", and you will set that up to redirect to your affiliate link at godaddy or where ever you buy the domain. So people will only see that they are going to a top level domain, and they won't see all the affiliate hoplink stuff. You will only need to worry about cloaking your hoplink if you build the site out, but not right now as you get started. Does that make sense?

yes thanks ScoTech..when you say start writing ezinearticles do you mean writing articles about the thing that i'm selling, or about that sort of genre...eg if it's something to do with diet then in the health and beauty field???or articles about anything??

sorry if this is a stupid question...F

You want to write articles to indirectly sell the product your selling. So basically you write an article about how bad problem x is, and that traditional solutions to problem x are real expensive or don't work, then in the bio box (don't actually put your bio here, this is where you can sell) offer your product as a successful alternative.

Hey Foxeter! We were all newbies at some point, ;) Read and learn as much as you can, even if you have to stay the wole day learning all the insides and basic terms about affiliate marketing. Also get a mentor, someone that is willing to teach you the secrets of this business ;) Good luck.

I would add that you only really need to cloak your CB affiliate links if you are selling internet marketing related products. People in other niches are less aware of affiliate links.
