Total Newbie-My Adwords Ad is NOT taking people to my site Google is not helping me!

I am at my wits end here. I have spent a ton of time on the phone with google and exchanged several emails and they can't seem to fix the problem. In the mean time I have spent a ton of money myself.
    Here's the thing.
I started running an ad on google, bid high enough for the first spot on the important keywords, saw my ad and clicked...took me to my page BUT only the first time. After that I went to a page belonging to another rep.
    Display URL= http://www.pops2lose.com
    Destination URL= http://www.power-pops.com/cindyup

    I changed the Destination URL=http://www.power-pops/cindyup/default.aspx

First 2 times it worked then took me to another reps site.
Google and I changed it every different way, same thing. Works for a few times then doesn't. My friends clicked from their computer, same thing, works sometimes, then not at all. (lots of $ for these clicks!)

I called the company, they said it's not them. No one else has this problem. I wondered....HMMM, they have an rep rotation going on the main URL to spread the business out. Is that effecting my google ad? Is that the glitch? They said no way, no how. Funny, my ad seems to rotate to different reps.

Can anyone please give me some help? I am trying to build my own site now, thinking that if I direct my google ad to MY site and then from there have a Buy Now button to go to the company product page I might be OK.

I just want to sell my lollipops now, while the market is hot with media attention! I am way to stubborn and angry to give up now.

    Thanks!
    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,

Sounds like someone else is bidding on the same keywords as you using the same domain.

    Google has a policy of only allowing each site to appear once for any given search, and it classes all the following as the same site;

So, if for instance there is someone else advertising on the same keywords and sending the traffic to http://www.power-pops.com/joebloggs, only the highest ranking advertisers ad will show.

Your options are to either get into a bidding war with the other party to try and stay on top, or create another landing page on a dedicated URL that you own, and send your traffic to that page instead.

    Hope this helps,

    Dan

I just checked out your site... Lollypops for weight loss!! I like the sound of that!! :D

One thing though; you should always try to send the customer to the most relevent page to the keyword they're searching for, so if you're advertising the lollypops, I'd send them direct to http://www.power-pops.com/cindyup/powerpop.htm, rather than the home page. Most people won't bother to dig through a site to find what they need, and will just click away if it's not immediately relevent, so this should increase your conversion rate.

    Dan,
I have been working on my own site, bit by bit. I don't know a thing about codes so I'm using a template with citymaker.com.
I the mean time I have another site to use from a friend. BUT, there are a few other people using this replicated site too. Will that mess me up?
    Here's the site...www.eatallnatural.com/cindyup.htm
they, of course have different user names.
I forwarded my www.pops2lose.com at godaddy.com but it takes a while to show up.
BTW, I did try to send them to the product page, they were still going to someone else's page, after the first 2 clicks, no matter what url I put in they went to some other reps site.

Do you think this new site, eatallnatural.com/cindyup.htm will work?

BTW, I am crazy about this pop thing. I'm in another company, Amigo Health. That product changed my life. www.thecompletebodymakeover.com
But that's a larger learning curve and a long term commitment to build the business. The pops are HOT now, they have been on a ton of TV shows and are in US Weekly this week. I want to be out there to get the business while the buzz is going on. I'm new to network marketing so I don't know too many ways to advertise, google was the first and only one I have tried. And two days have cost me a ton with no results.
    Thanks for all your help!

I just put my ad up again and it's going to my new (replicated) site, not the company one. I heard on the company call tonight that other people were having problems logging in.
I hope it works continually, as before it would work for 2-3 clicks and then screw up.
I think the women who is using the company url as her display url (power-pops.com) may be messing those of us using the company site (ower-pops.com/cindyup) up. I'm glad to have a different site to use.

Now, I would like to find some more budget friendly ways to advertise my product. Google is soooo expensive. I spent 150.00 today and it wasn't even up there most of the day and when it was it was going to the other lady's site!
    Anyone have any other suggestions/
    Thanks to all!
    Cindy

    Hi,

The eatallnatural.com/cindyup.htm will only work for you if no-one else using the eatallnatural.com domain is advertising for the same keywords as you. If there is a different user advertising for the same keywords, using the eatallnatural.com domain, you'll just end up with the same problem again.

As far as your spending goes; the 150.00 will only be for when YOUR advert showed, and the customer was sent to YOUR site, you will only have been paying for your own traffic, when someone else's ad appears for a search, they pay for the click, not you.

To try and get your costs down, you need to get on top of your keyword list and understand which of them are working for you, and which are costing too much money to be worth while. Make sure you have tracking in place, so you can see which of your keywords results in a sale, and adjust your bidding accordingly. Also, expand your keyword list to include any RELEVANT new keywords you can find, and experiment with different match types.

The key is to have the tracking in place; without it you have no way of knowing what's working, and what's just costing you a load of money for no results.

    Good luck!

    Dan

Ouch, I just realised you've been click bombing the other advertisers who're advertising the same program as you...

Think about the money you've spent testing this out, and think about the other reps who're losing money as a result of this. I'd report yourself to Google to refund you (and the other reps) for those clicks for fairnesses sake.

Did you notice that the ads you were clicking on were worded completely differently to the ones you'd written? Or were they ACTUALLY showing your ads and redirecting to someone else's? Interesting issue perhaps.
